Don Yonko took us to Brentwood Bay and back. We explored the Butchart Gardens cove and all the nooks and crannies. It was a fun ride. We also played with the insta360. (a type of go-pro). It was a beautiful day, although partly cloudy so intermittent bouts of sunshine. When we rented the car we drove over to this area to check out where to catch the bus. We had a theory that from Tod Inlet we could go to shore and it was a hop, skip, and a jump to Butchart bus stop. We were correct. Yuss!
We might have to go on an adventure to find a few parts that we need.
We are using our new Drop! washing machine. Thanks for the tip, Greg! You all know that I have a uniform: a V-neck dress from Duluth, a pair of leggings and, of course, unmentionables. The capacity is 4.41 lbs. My uniform fit nicely. We can fill it up with the shower head. I have a short extension cord to plug it in.
fill machine–wash–drain–fill machine again to rinse–run wash cycle again–drain–take all the clothes out–take out “pulsator” put in spinning basket–spin cycle–voila
Sophie says this all sounds too complicated and we should wash them by hand. Um. No.
We will hang the laundry in the shower and run the dehumidifier. We *think* the clothes should be dry in about an hour. We’ll see. I can hang them all day until our evening generator run this evening (so I can have power to run the dehumidifier)
I bought some fancy laundry soap that can go overboard. I’m not happy about it either, folks. But we have no grey water tank, so water from dishes, showers and laundry go straight into the drink.
Jim sampling some water we just made (before we fill our water tanks with it) – Drop! Washing Machine – Success! Laundry is done (dehumidifier under clothing)
Talk Soon.

Here is the long boring video I promised of us leaving the dock at Van Isle. We don’t leave until about halfway through the video. I trimmed it down, but should have trimmed it even more.
You can run your video player on double speed (although then you can’t eavesdrop on our conversation – which is definitely a peek into the stress of navigating to new waters 😛 )
