The juice was not worth the squeeze!

Jim and I got our wires crossed yesterday. I thought we were leaving this morning, so we went to Costco yesterday ON THE BUS! That ate up the majority of our day. 5 hours on buses. Next time we will just shop local or rent a car! Groceries are crazy expensive here, so I do believe it’s worth it to go to Costco, just not the way we did it! Jim informed me that we are not doing that again 😛

Since Poutine is the national dish of Canada, of course, Costco would offer that! And notice they call carbonated beverages by their correct name, “Pop”. Debate over.

Usually, it is pretty easy to get around here on the bus. And we really enjoy the sites along the way. The Google app shows where the bus is on your route. However, yesterday the buses were not showing up, and so we missed a couple by mere minutes. (and one drove right by us, we didn’t realize it until it pulled away). I was pretty crabby.

We did manage to cram quite a bit of food into each pack. Fish, burger, sausage, cheese, broccoli, peppers, cucumbers and some kind bars in this one.

A major time suck was picking up some stuff from an Amazon locker. While it was on our route to Costco, we hopped off to pick up the packages and the next bus was in THIRTY EIGHT MINUTES! But, on a positive note, we got our 10k steps in!

We were almost home and I got a text from our friend that he and his family were meeting at the pub, and would we like to join. The bus stopped right there, and I’m never one to turn down a social. What a fun evening! Both Paul and his parents own Nordic Tugs so we had a lot to talk about. He had two other sisters with spouses there as well. We ended up eating dinner too. They offered to drop us off after, so nice!

Pack two – more kind bars, asparagus, lunchmeat, individual guacs, brussels, burgers, short ribs, and our amazon packages (silcone bread maker, laundry supplies)

During dinner the subject came up about fishing and that we were very interested in prawning. Hans is going to pick us up at 9 am and take us to get outfitted with a trap, puller, and all the goodies that go along with that. I can’t imagine trying to do that on the bus!

After that, we have a few errands before we head out. (we didn’t want to cart fragile stuff on the bus, so a quick stop at a local grocery is in order.) While we have truly enjoyed our stay here, we are itching to move along.

Heading out tomorrow, so maybe no post.

Talk Soon.
