We washed some laundry, it is out on the balcony. We were not expecting rain until this afternoon. We woke up and it is pouring and our laundry is soaked! It has received a good 3 rinses by now. I think we might need to move it indoors! Or at least under the awning and get a fan going on it!

I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the wash cycle takes FIVE hours. I did a little research and indeed it is economical. Well, okay then.

We stopped by for a cappuccino on our way to the train station. The barista knows our order now. “Due cappuccini per voi?” She asked with a smile. Si, si! Grazie!

We visited Trani by train. It was 3,90 euro each. I’m sure you couldn’t drive there for that! It wasn’t too far of a walk to the seaside. This has definitely been our favorite area in this neck of the woods. SO clean and beautiful. We explored the area for a couple of hours, stopped and had some lunch. We weren’t sure what agnolotti were but it was in the pasta section and the dish sounded good, so we both tried that. (we did not have any cell service to use google translate). Turns out that it is stuffed pasta. In fact, I am not clear why it wasn’t labeled ravioli. Maybe the shape. Nope, I looked it up. Ravioli is from two sheets of pasta and angolotti is folded over. It had a simple sauce of sausage and tomatoes with burrata on top; served with rustic bread so we could “fare la scarpetta”. That means you make a “little shoe” out of your bread and mop up your sauce. There are rules for this. Don’t do it in a fancy restaurant or around strangers. But we were the only ones dining and all alone, so no etiquette rules were broken here!

We stopped and picked up some salad ingredients for dinner and headed home in the pouring rain. We didn’t feel like heading back out so we hung out for the remainder of the day. We had one show left in a series on Netflix before we left the States that was burning a hole in our pocket. Remember when we had to get a VPN to watch our Netflix in Canada? Well, that came in handy once again! We called my sister in Utah who is coming to visit soon; we talked for about an hour. Sophie called a bit after that we talked to her for about an hour as well. Before we knew it, we were yawning and calling it. Oh, btw, Olly won the Sanremo Festival 2025. He has the option to represent Italy in Eurovision. Didn’t want to leave you wondering.

paleremo presto.
