Fun day on the Saanich Peninsula

Upon further investigation, it would take 4 hours round trip on the bus to Costco, so we rented a car. With the extra Costco delivery fees and the huge chunk it would take out of our day just to get there, I feel like it was a wash. Sophie thought it was funny that we have been here a few days and already rented a car.

We took all the back roads that we could there and back to do some exploring as well. This is certainly an idyllic place to live. We also drove to Tod Inlet to get the lay of the land. It’s comforting to know where we can get the bus, groceries etc.

After we dropped off the groceries, we packed up a picnic dinner and headed over to a place I saw along the way to watch the sunset. It was a popular spot and all the tables were taken, so we enjoyed our dinner in our bougie car. Check out picture 2 below, you can see the car from above! So handy when parking! The sky was pretty clear yesterday so the sunset while nice wasn’t all that spectacular.

From left to right 1) Windlass Maintenance 2) Bougie Car 3) This tree is poppin! Jim took a picture the day we arrived and it was mostly buds 4 & 5) Sunset in the Marina 6) Sunset at Patricia Bay.

We head off tomorrow so chores for today:

  • laundry,
  • pick up some items at the grocery that we did not need costco size
  • drop off the rental car
  • straighten up the boat – somehow it’s a wreck again
  • charge everything that possibly needs charged
  • but first! Starbucks! (have to put that rental to good use!)

These chores aren’t doing themselves.

Talk Soon.

Buy us some Canadian geese at the Costco! A four hour trip is insane, but I’ll be fun sightseeing!

That sent me down a rabbit hole. Yes, people do eat Canadian Geese, however they are a wild game meat so we would have to hunt them down. Less time traveling, so you’ll have to hunt your own Canadian Geese. I’m sure they won’t be hard to find 😛
