We are going to take a quick trip home. So today we are buttoning up some stuff and ordering a flurry of necessities to pick up tax-free in Montana. Tomorrow we are heading into a marina and Thursday we are leaving. It was going to be pretty spendy to fly, so it is coming all together. For half the price of flying we can:
Take a water taxi from Sidney to Friday Harbor. (1 hour! That is FAST!) – and this is an adventure in itself. 22 miles (that would take us roughly 3 hours depending on current)
From Friday Harbor we will take the ferry as walk-on passengers to Anacortes. (1 hour trip as well via Ferry)
We’ll take a bus from the Anacortes Ferry Terminal to our truck. (haha. this will take as long as the other rides due to the wait at the bus stop) but that is okay, as sometimes ferries run late, etc.
We’ll stay the night in Ellensburg and then home on Saturday.
We are going to ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria when we return, as we are bringing our truck to Canada for the last month. Our Canadian friends are allowing us to park our truck in their driveway. Nice! There is a bus stop near their house, so it’s an easy trek to the truck when we need it.
Also, Phill and Martha won’t have to rent a vehicle for their stay here, we can pick them up at the airport.
And, to top it all off – we can do some serious provisioning at Costco before our trip North. And getting our propane filled (we were told by someone with a straight face that it is only a 2 minute drive to get our propane filled) Haha. Do you hear yourself? Anyways.
Win. Win.
So, we actually won’t talk soon. Look for us on or around May 4th. Then it will be one short month of traveling, the Nordic Tug Rendezvous, and then we’re off on our flotilla. Exciting!! We are planning on heading up to Princess Louisa Inlet after Phill and Martha’s visit. We might have a buddy boat going along.
In a while crocodile.
