Since Jim doesn’t have access to his favorite stylist for 3 months, I gave him his first haircut (of many!) Sophie gave me some pointers that I promptly forgot. I think it turned out pretty good. I sent Sophie some pics, she gave me some more pointers for next time.
Years ago, Jim and I drove through Victoria to get a ferry to Port Angeles, we were whisked downtown and then into a holding area to await the ferry (because Customs). We always wanted to go back and check it out.
We hopped on the bus to Victoria yesterday. It was a double-decker on the way in and a single-decker on the way back. Note to self, wait for the next double-decker! We sat upstairs in the front (along with the other two couples that were obviously tourists) 😛 The bus was pretty cheap, we bought a 10-pack of tickets for 16.87 after the exchange rate and taxes. So the ride was only $1.68 for each of us. We didn’t need to change busses, ours just took us (albeit one hour) straight downtown!
Left to right: Yours Truly – Welcome to Chinatown – Fantan Alley – Gate to Chinatown – Ramen for lunch – the harbor is bustling
It was a beautiful day, sunny and 60 degrees!! We checked out Chinatown, had some ramen for lunch, and wandered down Wharf Street. They have a pedestrian walking mall in the shops area for a certain period each day. We stopped at Murchie’s Tea Shop, founded in 1894 and Canada’s oldest tea shop. I regretted the ramen because I would have loved to have a proper tea! I told Jim that I wanted to come back for tea before we leave and he laughed. By proper tea, I mean with the tea of course, and some little finger sandwiches and tiny desserts. I think the laugh means that is not happening. I did buy some teas, so now I am really stocked up on tea! Our neighbor Angie knows how much tea I drink and gave me 5 boxes as a parting gift! Thanks for the recommendation to Murchie’s Julie!
Victoria Harbor – those little cuties are taxis – Murchie’s Tea Shop, yes those are tulips!
Our other stop was to an Italian grocery store and deli. We bought some fun things and hopped on the bus and headed home. As I said earlier, the bus ride home was a single-decker and not as fun as sitting upstairs in the front seat!
A quick stop at the chandlery on our walk home for some heat shrink wrap that is needed to finish a project. Happy hour in the glorious sunshine on the flybridge. Lots of activity buzzing around us. Which is fun, we people-watch, hatch plans, and bask.
We had charcuterie with our fun Italian goodies (basically snacks) for dinner. And enjoyed some Hulu and off to bed.
Today Jim wants to finish a project, I’m going to go grocery shopping (they deliver to the marina) and later we will take a dinghy ride as it is going to be even warmer today.
Talk Soon.
