That was QUITE the adventure!
OMWow. What a day! We lucked out and the folks from Seeley Lake left right before we did, so it was super easy leaving the dock today. We started our cruise – and it was calm and beautiful. It went from Nice, to Kinda Sporty, to Sporty, to Nautical, and finally Frickin Western. Our camera that we keep on the windscreen slid all the way down and fell into the flybridge instead of off into the water! What luck! We’ll lash that down from here on out. When we came downstairs to get things ready to anchor, all our stuff was launched everywhere! Nothing broke though.
Favorite of the trip: WE SAW A WHALE BREACHING! And not just once but at least half a dozen times. Wow, wow, wow.
Jim was seasick and regretted going below deck. He never recovered until the end of the trip, but luckily, I didn’t. I guess it was only lucky if you were me.
It rained pretty much most of the trip, but it wasn’t bothering us, so we stayed upstairs. Jim said the fresh air was helping ease his seasickness and there was no way that he could have stayed below.

We have some friends that we met in Anacortes, Tim and Jill Cooke (they also lived in MT! Stevensville) Anyways, they texted that they are one bay over! What are the odds.
We had a relaxing afternoon. I baked a loaf of bread for Somerled, as I waked them pretty hard and felt awful about it. We dinghied over and delivered the loaf still warm from the oven and I think we are forgiven, and we won’t do it again 🙂 We enjoyed a nice visit with them. They are tucked away in a cove, and of course, we didn’t bring a camera with us. The reflections on the water were mirror-like and worth capturing.
We have a fun day planned. Short cruise, a hike, and a potluck. It is raining today (Sunday morning), but as the saying goes “There is no bad weather, just bad clothing!”
Talk Soon.
HOLY COW! OMG! And everything else in between! What a day…though I have to say the whale breaching several times might just make it all worth it! Great descriptions of the days events….I can smell the bread! LOL! Smooth sailing tomorrow I hope.
