We made it safely to Van Isle. We weren’t there long and we got a text from our friend John that he was in Van Isle and where were we? We met up with him and another couple, Ann and Jim Ryan, for dinner at the Sea Glass Grill. We had a great dinner and conversation. John is helping them take their Diesel Duck 462 Salon Umiak to Anacortes.
We took the bus to pick up our truck at Debbie and Hans’ house. They are still on their 5th wheel vacation so we didn’t get a visit, and it was work hours so I didn’t want to bug Paul. Instead, I texted him and invited ourselves to their Thirsty Thursday 🙂 He laughed and said he would let me know what time.
We slicked up the house and gave Ann and Jim a little tour before they headed out. We then, of course, had to go get a Starbucks and take a little drive around and drink our coffees. It was such a glorious morning. Bright blue skies and sunny. The wind has really kicked up this afternoon. I am glad we aren’t out in this!
I knew we were coming back to Van Isle, so I didn’t do a lick of laundry since the last time we were here. It was five loads and $30 CDN. Jim is doing some maintenance and I am puttering.
We ended up meeting up with Paul and a group of his family and friends at 4:30 at Category 12 Brewery. It was a great afternoon, we sat out in the sunshine and visited. Our burgers were fantastic.
Remember I wanted to swap stories with Tracy Anne from California? The boat that spent the gale force wind storm in Clam Bay with us? They pulled into Van Isle yesterday! Small world. We wandered by their boat to gab, but they were not around. Maybe next time.
We aren’t leaving here until Sunday morning, so you probably won’t hear from us until Monday.
Talk Soon.
