Last Day at Tod Inlet

Hans and Debbie met us at the top of the trail at 9. After a conversation, it was decided that we would go into Victoria to Trotac to pick up the prawning setup. It was fantastic shopping with someone who knew what they were doing! We got 2 traps, the line, a buoy, a pot puller, all the bits and bobs, and after, we even stopped by to buy a case of catfood which is instrumental in successful prawning. We also needed some parts, and had planned on maybe trying to go to Trotac!

They took us on a tour of their rose farm. Wow! It is quite the operation! So MANY varieties of roses! They also grow alstroemerias. Which is a type of lily. Here is a link to their website. It’s worth a visit. https://eurosa.bc.ca/

Jim met us at Paul’s slip with the dinghy. We brought all the stuff down in a dock cart and loaded it up. There is NO WAY we could have schlepped all that on the bus. We were so grateful! We wanted to buy them lunch, but Hans’ brother was coming for the afternoon from Victoria. So we said our farewells, and we truly hope we see them out and about! They won’t make it for the rendezvous this year, they are driving across Canada – from the West Coast to the East. That is quite a trek.

After we unloaded, we went into Brentwood Bay to pick up some sundries that we needed. The main thing we needed was eggs. We were standing at the stop, laden, and Jim says. Oh, we forgot eggs! I told him to stay put, I’d go back to the grocery and get some eggs and if we missed the bus we’d take the next. I got back with one minute to spare.

I don’t know why, but boy was I whipped! So, we had an easy dinner and watched The Chosen. (we have one more left of season 3!) Again, I cannot recommend it enough. I am reading the New Testament in 30 days with an online group of folks, and it brings to life my readings from the day. (which by the way is like drinking from a firehose) We watched the one last night where Jesus walks on water. They did a fantastic job portraying that.

We are heading out this morning, I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow morning.

Talk Soon.
